W. James Stokes

Current Experience

Mr. Stokes joined DPP in July 2023 after retiring from Atlanta based Truist Securities, Inc., where he served as head of Mergers and Acquisitions for both the Financial Institutions Group and Real Estate Investment Banking. He will focus on financial institutions in the Southeast and South.

Past Experience

Prior to joining SunTrust-Robinson Humphrey (the predecessor to Truist Securities) he served as Managing Director for Morgan Keegan and Burke Capital Group. He began his career as a bank examiner with the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. Mr. Stokes also managed two investment funds investing in community banks. He has over 30 years of experience assisting community banks.

Education

Mr. Stokes holds a B.B.A degree with a concentration in finance from Emory University in Atlanta. Mr. Stokes also holds the Series 7, 63 and 79 licenses with FINRA
