Spartan Motors has Acquired Strobes-R-Us, Inc.

On December 17, 2018, Spartan Motors (NASDAQ: SPAR), a global leader in specialty chassis and vehicle design, manufacturing, and assembly, acquired Strobes-R-Us, Inc., a Florida-based, premier provider of upfit services for law enforcement, governmental and commercial fleets, and specialty service vehicles.

The acquisition will enable Spartan Motors to increase its product and service offerings to commercial fleet, specialty service, and existing emergency response customers -- while adding law enforcement and governmental fleet vehicle upfit to their list of capabilities. Additionally, the acquisition allows Spartan Motors to expand its manufacturing capabilities into the Southeastern U.S. market. As part of this acquisition, Spartan Motors acquired Strobes-R-Us' world-class upfit facility and product showroom in Pompano Beach, Florida.

Strobes-R-Us will join Spartan Motors under its Fleet Vehicles and Services (FVS) business unit, which is a leader in the fleet, commercial vehicle, and specialty service markets. FVS designs, engineers, and manufactures truck bodies, walk-in vans, highly customized global fleets, and vocation-specific upfits under the Utilimaster and Spartan Upfit Services go-to-market brands. Utilimaster’s Work-Driven Design® process blends customer needs with vocation-based vehicle and upfit solutions.
